Victorious start in doubles! today vs the defending champions.

On Friday 8th, Dalila & Irina started their run in doubles at Indian Wells, their opponents were two veterans in doubles, the pair of Lucie Hradecka & Anna Lena Groenefeld.

Despite the bigger experience in the other side of the court, Dalila & Irina were the first to break in the first service game of their opponents followed by two comfortable holds to take a lead of 4-2 in the opening set then facing three BP's in their fourth service game but able to hold in the end to go 5-2, in the end of the first set, on Hradecka's service with a good backhand the ball landed in the net and the girls took the set by 6-2.

Starting the second set, Dalila & Irina broke Groenefeld's service to take the lead by 2-0, getting broken back in the next game and breaking back twice to take the 3-1 lead.

Dalila & Irina had some difficulties at 5-1 up to close the set as Hradecka & Groenefeld started to put more pressure on their shots and frustrating the team a little but eventually after serving to equal the score 5-5, they got broken after 40-30 up and Dalila and Irina won the match by 6-2, 6-4 to move to the second round.

Great win for the team, in the next round, today March 10th: they will play the defending champions Su-Wei Hsieh and Barbora Strycova, the match is scheduled on Stadium 9 at 11:00 hrs (Local Time).
