Dalila Jakupovic

born on March 24, 1991 on Jesenice Slovenia. She started to play tennis at the age of 6 until the age of 15 when she left to Munich to start a more professional training in the Pilic Academy.

 

It was on 2008 when Dalila debut as a pro player, reaching her first doubles and singles finals at ITF level in August and September respectively.

Her first ITF title came in 2009 in Melilla, Spain when she team up with Zuzana Zlochova to beat Kovarcikova & Lobbinger by 6-2, 6-4. It was until 2012 in Aurangabad India after defeating Peangtarn Plipuech by 6-4, 7-5 when her first ITF in singles came for her.

 

Overall Dalila has won 5 ITF titles in singles: 2 in Aurangabad (2012/2015), 1 in Turin (2016), 1 in Hechingen (2016) & 1 in Canberra (2018). In Doubles she has 8 titles already, all with different partners.

At WTA level Dalila reached her first final on April 2017 in Doubles with Nadia Kichenok at Abierto Monterrey, that year she also reached her first singles final in November at 125K Mumbai Open.

Her first WTA title in doubles came one week later on April 2017 in Istanbul Cup with Nadia Kichenok after beating Nicole Melichar and Elise Mertens in the final by 7-6, 6-2!.

Dalila started to play more at WTA level on 2018 after her ranking improved so much after winning the title in Canberra Australia and reaching the semifinals at Colsanitas Open in Bogota. 

​

2018 has been Dalila's best season so far, making her debut in Grand Slams in both singles at Roland Garros and doubles at Australian Open, she also reached the top 100 in singles for the first time and got to #69 on November 5, finishing as the best Slovenian player of the season. In doubles she reached top 40 with a NCH at #38 on September 10.
